"All Roads Lead to Kaunas" is the city image film I directed for the Kaunas Film Office.
In 2026, the film earned widespread international recognition across the festival circuit. It won silver at the US International Awards and a Bronze Tower in the Corporate Image: Tourism category at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. It went on to win at the Zagreb TourFilm Festival and took 3rd place (Blue Danube) in the Tourism Destination City category at the 18th SILK FEST International Tourism & Ecology Film Festival. Together, these wins on the CIFFT Circuit carried Kaunas to joint 2nd place worldwide in the "Tourism Destination Cities" category of the CIFFT ranking—often referred to as the Oscars of tourism film.
The film was made for the Kaunas Film Office, part of Kaunas IN. Its goal was to show international producers and location scouts that Kaunas can play many eras on screen. We moved from the Baroque walls of Pažaislis Monastery and the interiors of the Bank of Lithuania to the futuristic forms of Science Island, aiming for a modern, cinematic look on a tight schedule.
Together with Edgaras Šilkauskas, Head of the Kaunas Film Office, we came up with the idea and managed the locations. I led the crew through filming and post-production: 1st Assistant Director Žilvinas Sprindys, cinematographer Kasparas Pilybas, drone operator Povilas Stankūnas, gaffer Voldemaras Voitkūnas, make-up and styling artist Smiltė Silkinaitė, and lead actor Paulius Važgauskas.
The awards arrived while we were negotiating to bring two major international productions to Lithuania, helping build crucial trust with foreign partners.
